Chris Moon

Chris Moon, a Tucson High School graduate who sacrificed his life while serving our country in Afghanistan. Chris was an outstanding baseball player who was drafted out of high school by the Atlanta Braves but instead, chose to accept a scholarship to play baseball at the University of Arizona. He worked out and played during the fall season with the Wildcats. At the start of the second semester, Chris decided to pursue what had always been a dream of his, to serve our country, by enlisting in the US Army. Chris served several tours of duty and was credited with several successful missions until he was injured by an IED, just weeks before his scheduled return to the US. Chris was flown to the US Army Medical Center at Landstuhl, Germany but succumbed to his injuries on July 13, 2010.
